What is a rapid, semi-quantitative urinalysis?

A rapid, semi-quantitative urinalysis detects various substances in urine such as haemoglobin, protein and glucose. Compared to a screening test that can only differentiate between negative and positive, semi-quantitative urinalysis can provide a rough estimate of how much of the substance there is. However, only a quantitative test in a laboratory can tell you the exact amount. Due to the cost and time it takes to use quantitative tests for urinalysis, veterinary practices and veterinary clinics very rarely use them for routine check-ups.

Can I reuse components of the test kit?

No, the kit components can only be used once for both cats and dogs. There are two reasons for this: firstly, the embedded urine test strips are single use, and secondly, washing out the cup or reusing the cat litter runs the risk of leaving urine traces, which would impact the result if the same cup/litter was used again. Our test kits are made from 98% organic materials to minimise our environmental footprint.

Can I try the scan and analysis functions with an unused cup?

No. Unfortunately, an unused cup cannot be used to test the scan and analysis functions. The cup with an embedded urine test strip must only be removed from its packaging just before you intend to use it, otherwise moisture will cause the parameters to change colour, and they will lose their accuracy.

Does the test work without the app?

The test only works in combination with the Pezz app as the app scans and analyses the urine test for you. The Pezz app is for scanning and analysing the test. Every result is reviewed by our experts within a few hours and displayed automatically in your app.

Which devices and software versions are supported?

All devices running Android 8.0 Oreo or iOS 12.0 and newer are supported.

What do the results tell me?

The result in the Pezz app shows you which levels are normal, slightly abnormal or abnormal. Each result includes a more detailed description. In addition, the overall test results are used to give you a vet recommendation that will tell you exactly what you need to do.

How can I manage, cancel or pause my subscription?

When you place an order on our website, you can create an account where you can manage your subscription.
Do you have some test kits that still need to be used? In that case, we'd be happy to pause or cancel your subscription. Just contact us using our contact form, or alternatively email us at support.eu@pezz.life. Please quote your subscription ID (order number) and tell us what you want to do. We'll then pause or cancel your automatic delivery as soon as possible.

What if I’ve paid for a subscription and then find that I can’t successfully collect a urine sample?

Does the test work with other animals?

Our urine test kits were specially developed for use with cats and dogs. Unfortunately, we don’t currently offer tests for other animals. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let us know at support.eu@pezz.life.
